workers care program

To improve the way care and services are delivered to severely injured workers, we’ve centralised care-management into a new program called icare workers care.

At Workers Care we provide the best support to workers with severe injuries such as:

  • brain injury (moderate to severe)
  • spinal cord injury
  • multiple amputations or specific unilateral amputations
  • full thickness burns
  • permanent blindness

We do this by using icare’s Lifetime Care model of service delivery. Our Lifetime Care model puts people with severe injuries at the centre of all planning and decision-making regarding the services they receive as soon as possible after injury. We’re focused on helping people with severe injuries achieve their goals at home, work and in their community by using specialised service providers who understand the needs of people with severe injuries.

Workers in the program receive treatment and care under NSW workers compensation legislation from Workers Care, while their employer’s workers compensation insurer continues to manage weekly payments and all other types of compensation.

Since 31 October 2015, all newly injured workers have had had their treatment and care services provided through the Workers Care Program. Workers, who sustained severe workplace injuries before this time, will begin to receive services through Workers Care commencing September 2016.

More details will be coming soon to this space.
